Many people utilize prepackaged foods as part of their meals. Some Connecticut residents may simply enjoy the taste of certain items, and others may appreciate the ease that these products can provide. However, issues could arise with certain foods that leave consumers facing injury and companies facing products liability claims.

It was recently reported that a recall has been enacted that involves cans of Spam produced by Hormel. The issue apparently revolves around pieces of metal found in the food product. It was unclear what may have caused this issue, but at the time of the report, at least four claims of minor injuries had been reported in relation to the metal.

The report also stated that 228,000 lbs. of the meat product had been recalled. The packaging is labeled SPAM Classic and is stamped with a “best by” date indicating Feb. 2021. The recall is also effective nationwide as the product was shipped throughout the country. It was also noted that a Hormel product shipped out of the country was also affected by the recall.

When there are foreign objects in food products, consumers can easily suffer negative effects. Though the injuries associated with this recall were considered minor, more serious harm could result. Those in Connecticut who are significantly affected by this product or other similar issues may have reason to file legal claims against the manufacturers. Information on products liability lawsuits could help interested parties learn more about this legal option and whether their circumstances could warrant taking on such an endeavor.

Connecticut residents may be interested in a recent recall that affects hard hats. Workers from construction to cable installation utilize hard hats in hopes of keeping their heads safe from certain injuries. The report stated that the company Honeywell has recalled over 82,500 hard hats due to putting users at risk of suffering head injuries because the hats do not protect as well as they should.

The hats were manufactured in 2016, 2017 and 2018, and they were sold in various colors. The hats were also sold from various distributors, including online from retailer Amazon. At the time of the report, there had been no injuries reported in relation to the defective hard hats at the time of the report. It was recommended that users discontinue use of the hats immediately.

If Connecticut residents do become injured due to the use of these hats or another defective product, they may have reason to seek compensation. Gaining information on products liability claims could help interested parties determine whether taking legal action could suit their circumstances. In order to gain evaluations of their cases, injured individuals may wish to consult with legal professionals to better understand whether taking such action could be warranted.

After having a child, many parents feel that their senses of worry increase considerably. As a result, they often want to ensure that anything they give their children does not pose any unnecessary hazards to their safety. Unfortunately, some products may pose risks that are not obvious, and children could potentially suffer harm. In cases when a defective item results in injury, parents may have reason to file products liability claims.

Connecticut parents may be interested in a recent recall issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Reports indicated that the recall pertained to pacifier and teether holders manufactured by the brand Dr. Brown’s. Apparently, the holders consist of a ribbon that attaches to the pacifier or teether to prevent the child from losing it.

The issue with the product relates to a snap on the ribbon that can come off of the product. As a result, the detachment could pose a choking hazard. At the time of the report, no injuries had been reported. Nonetheless, nearly 600,000 holders had been sold in the United States by various retailers, and 67 reports had been made in relation to the snap detachment issue.

Though no injuries have been reported yet, it does not mean that none have taken place or will not take place. If Connecticut residents have children who have been injured due to the issues related to this product, they may want to consider their legal options. Filing products liability claims could allow them to pursue compensation for resulting injuries, medical expenses or other allowable damages.
